Job Summary
Responsible for the overall work performed by Material Handlers and staff at assigned warehouses for all contracted employees.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Onsite Shift Supervisors will ensure that the warehouse maintains an adequate workforce for the uninterrupted performance of all tasks. This includes managing surge support, Material Handlers scheduling, and maintaining the workforce. Supervisors will provide guidance and training to Material Handlers, ensuring a safe work environment, production, and is accuracy.
Responsible for the overall work performed by Material Handlers at assigned warehouse for all contracted employees.
Trains Material Handlers
Assigns work based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of the employees ensuring work is timely
Complies with all standards and ensures that all transactions are accurate.
Maintain records, document necessary information and utilize reports to warehouse project status.
Identify areas of improvement and collaborate with government personnel to enforce operating instructions and safety policies.
Monitors and reviews work, gives employee feedback on performance and conducts performance appraisals.
Participates in interview panels and recommends selection of candidates.
Comply with all government policies.
Additional duties comprise of but not limited to:
Resolving/implementing new procedures, resolving conflicts, consulting with govt. personnel
Physical Requirements
Standing
Walking during the entire workday
Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Bending
Loading supply packages (occasionally weighing as much as 50 pounds)
Pushing loaded carts of supplies
Moving heavier items weighing over 40 pounds with proper assistance
Operating pallet jacks, hand cart, forklifts, and other government-furnished warehouse equipment
Education and/or Experience
Education: High School Education (1-2 years of additional training and/or education is preferred)
Experience: 5 YEARS of Supervisory experience in Supply Chain/Logistics/Warehouse Operations.(e.g. shipping, receiving, order fulfillment processes and procedures).
Conflict management skills and the ability to anticipate and solve problems.
Time management skills to adhere to scheduling and prioritizing.
Proficient in the following: inventory software and systems; Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Office 2010 or later; data entry; and typing skills. Knowledge of security measures and principles to prevent loss of product and control access.
Knowledge of protective clothing, safety, and hazardous material handling procedures and equipment to ensure that employees work safely, have a safe environment to work.
Ensure that health and safety meet the required standards and that risk assessments are carried out.
Ability to guide and teach employees in their duties, procedures, and policies.
Ability to monitor and discuss with the employee their performance.
