Inventory Management Specialists work within the VA warehouse system to ensure smooth functioning of the warehouse and to support VA needs day to day.  This role is in support of  IT Asset Management in a warehouse environment that provides storage and transportation of inventory from its origin to its destination and during its operations, requires efficient and reliable logistics services for the transportation, delivery, and handling of IT hardware and related equipment. It involves maintaining the inventory, resources, and related information, and getting the goods to the right location at the right time and to the right customer.  

Responsibilities: 

• Inventory management, order picking and packing, operating material handling equipment e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, and assisting with shipping and receiving Lead warehouse team in day-to-day tasks 

• Support efficient utilization of space and material resources. 

• Track inventory in VA’s Inventory Management System (IMS). 

• Perform regular inventories, audits or counts. Investigate inventory inconsistencies and generate report as needed. 

• Communicate with customers, other agency Warehouse Staff, VACO IT staff, and other VA stakeholders  

• Facilitate the shipments, receipt, and storage or transfer of IT assets. 

Requirements for Inventory Management Specialist 2: 

• High School Diploma 
• 2 years minimum experience in inventory management or control 
• Forklift Certification is PREFERRED but not required
• Excellent attention to detail, good math and organizational skills. 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills 
• Excellent customer service 

Salary ranges from $38.79 - $39.00 per hour
