Journeyman Level Contract Support Specialist
We are looking for staff to work in support of VA Regional Procurement Office West acquisition and procurement activities on a full-time remote basis. This is a FULLY REMOTE 5-year opportunity. Candidates should have experience with pre- and post-award acquisitions processes with minimal assistance or training. Candidates need excellent writing skills and be able to communicate orally and in writing. The candidate shall be familiar with FAR and VAAR based procurements.
Responsibilities:
Solicit, evaluate, negotiate, analyze, advise, and assist with awards and terminations on contracts for the procurement of supplies and services, including complex contracts and high dollar acquisitions.
Analysis and evaluation of certified cost and pricing data and other types of pricing information to determine price reasonableness.
Preparation of contract files and electronic documents is also required.
Prepare contracting recommendations for the Contracting Officer that require research and interpretation of evolving government regulations, policies, guidance and laws.
Requirements:
Candidates shall have demonstrated knowledge of computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Adobe etc.
Team meetings and trainings are offered, and attendance may be required based on job duties.
Travel may be required based on duties.
BA Degree required which includes 24 semester hours in any combination of accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, industrial mgmt., marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
At least 4 years of Federal contracting experience.
